Finkelstein Stifled at Mohawk College?
Surprise security costs threaten cancellation of Jewish critic of Israel at Mohawk
Dr. Norman Finkelstein is scheduled to speak at Mohawk College on Saturday, February 19. But, after signing a contract for the event booking, Mohawk later decided to add a $1500 "security" fee for the unexpected hiring of eight security officers. Organizers believe that the last-minute surprise charge is intended to stifle the event. Grace Batchoun, Vice President of Public Relations for Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East, explains the situation.
