"Imagination is Everything" - Photographer being questioned and searched by police

I took an excursion down to security zone mid-afternoon on Thursday June 24th with the intention of taking photos.

I had minimal interactions with police until the end of my walk near University and King.  I witnessed a photographer being approached by three officers (see two photos above), who ordered the man produce ID.  They searched his bag, used his camera, and took notes. 

As I took two photographs, I turned around to see an officer directly behind me.  He asked me how I was doing and I asked him about when the area would be locked down.  He replied he didn't know.  At this point I was now aware that my activity was being noted.

I crossed the street and sat down down on a bench and watched the photographer continue to be interrogated by police.  About 5 m to my left an officer stood watching me.  At this time, another group of officers were speaking to each other about another photographer taking pictures.  One of them said that he noticed he was taking lots of pictures and that someone should be assigned to check him out.

The officer watching me became interested in following a young man with a larger, more professional camera and started to follow him for some time.
