TORONTO - Organizers with Environmental Justice Toronto delivered a message to Enbridge Investors today; "Enbridge Invests in Oil Addiction/Community Resistance is the Cure".

The action is being done to highlight growing resistance to Enbridge pipeline projects across Canada and the United States, from the eastbound Trailbreaker to the Northern Gateway, which runs from the Tar Sands to the northern British Columbia coast. Organizers are targeting investors with postcards from the Carrier-Sekani Tribal Council, a group of Indigenous nations who have rejected the Gateway project outright - including the Wet’suwet’en nation, who has formally issued a trespass notice to Enbridge for encroaching on their traditional territory.

Communities all along the pipeline route have rejected the Gateway proposal, including the Union of BC Municipalities, who voted last week to reject the project.
