More than 100 concerned citizens will arrive outside the office of Minister of Finance, Jim Flaherty’s office at noon on Wed Sept 30 at 150 King St W Toronto for a rally to demonstrate to the government Canadian dissatisfaction with the current thrust of  its response to the recession. The government has completely disregarded the human suffering that this economic catastrophe has had and continues to have on the people of Canada. By focusing on the discredited philosophy of Trickle Down economics and ignoring the desperate need to shore up the fragile social infrastructure that is the last resort for those who have lost everything in this crisis our government has condemned untold thousands of Canadians to extreme poverty that they may never be able to recover from. The Recession Relief Coalition is sponsoring this event to express to this government that Canadians will not accept this callous approach to the emergency and to make specific demands for change.
