Kiewit Truck Torched in Solidarity Action - Vancouver

by anonymous

On the night of June 30th, a work truck belonging to Peter Kiewit and Sons was set alight in East Vancouver. This was an act of solidarity with all those taking action against the G20 in Toronto, the hundreds who were kidnapped, beaten and detained by the State and those who are now facing charges.

Kiewit built the Olympic Sea to Sky highway project and filed the injunction against the Eagle Ridge Occupation ultimately resulting the the death of indigenous elder and warrior Harriet Nahanee. Among other things, Kiewit also constructs US military bases.

An attack against repression and those who profit off our misery. Happy Anti-Canada Day on stolen land!

You property damaging

You property damaging "anarchists" are idiots, you helped the politicians and police justify the outrageous squandering of $1.2 Billion of the People's money which should have been used for productive, socially useful, purposes. When are you going to wake up and realize this? For you, it is easier to sleep-walk through life than become conscious.

hold on a sec...

The state spent the money on security before the protests started. If folks hadn't taken direct action on Saturday, you think we'd be getting a refund or something? I fail to understand the logic here...

ya, grim reaper needs to get

ya, grim reaper needs to get some perspective instead of having this knee-jerk reaction.  you want to resist then expect repression, and if the state represses they will get more resistance!

If I am going to be oppressed

If I am going to be oppressed financially (taxes) and by my rights being suspended or revoked, I don't want it to be justified by government and police because of the Black-bloc or any other protest group's violence and vandalism. Wake up and grow up!

'grim reaper' you're an

'grim reaper' you're an idiot, quit whining.  if anyone needs to wake up it's you.  you're bitching about taxes while the earth is dying you're an idiot.

You, and others like you, are

You, and others like you, are unconscious idiots who, although you see the world around you disintegrating, are participating in that disintegration by your violence and destruction. That outrageous $1.2 Billion expended on security, which could have been used for constructive purposes, was justified by politicians and police due to the perceived threat of violence and destruction which, unfortunately, did occur. I pay taxes, which you probably don't, to support our society in positive and constructive purposes; you and others like you caused that money to be diverted and wasted and the suspension of civil liberties and the abuse and punishment of a lot of innocent people (900+). It is you and others like you who are the whining brats who, when you don't get your way, are violent and destructive. You, etc., act like children in their "terrible 2s", grow up!

"You, and others like you,

"You, and others like you, are unconscious idiots who, although you see the world around you disintegrating, are participating in that disintegration by your violence and destruction."

"That outrageous $1.2 Billion expended on security, which could have been used for constructive purposes, was justified by politicians and police due to the perceived threat of violence and destruction which, unfortunately, did occur."

-- yes, it could have been. for that to be we need a revolution.

--  broken windows does not cost 1.2B.; was spent before (i.e. perhaps the violence was in response to such disgusting spending).

--  well, the police and politicians didn't justify it to me. did they to you? it seems like it.

"I pay taxes, which you probably don't, to support our society in positive and constructive purposes; you and others like you caused that money to be diverted and wasted and the suspension of civil liberties and the abuse and punishment of a lot of innocent people (900+)."

--  you should give your taxes to the legal defense fund.

--  otherwise to local community groups

--  giving it to the government you can't help but fund what we're fighting.

"It is you and others like you who are the whining brats who, when you don't get your way, are violent and destructive. You, etc., act like children in their "terrible 2s", grow up!"

--  you are so tall, up there, way up where you are

--  i want to live free with my family and friends, all my human and nonhuman relations. if someone or some system gets in the way of that, violence is upon me, there is no choice. what is left is resistence: in that resistence you may have to hit someone to get back what is yours, for don't think they won't be holding tight to keep it from you.

See therein lies the problem.

See therein lies the problem. You still think your the taxes you pay are going to constructive purposes. ;)
