On July 17th, the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty took to the streets once again in support of tenants accross Toronto, demanding that the City of Toronto bring back the Community Start-Up an Maintenance Benefit (CSUMB) for tenants who need financial support for housing. The mass application clinic for the current Housing Stabilization Fund (HSF), which is what replaced CSUMB, resulted in over 100 applications to the city for funds to prevent tenants from being evicted, to buy new furniture and to aid in improving housing conditions.
