WHAT's the DIFFERENCE between CORPORATE MEDIA and INDEPENDENT MEDiA?

Blog posts reflect the views of their authors.
WE ARE OUR MEDIA
WE ARE OUR MEDIA

WE ARE ALL MEDIA.

We all--each and every one of us--record our experience, in some way.

The experience goes to memory, from where it will later be retrieved, and shared.
Perhaps by word-of-mouth, with friends around a campfire, or during another convergence or mobilization.
Maybe by email or chat or facebook or Flikr or some other social media. In work places and at home with family and friends.

Some of us take it further.

We analyse. We seek coverage. We synthesize. We report.
You could call us journalists. Or writers. Or poets. Filmmakers and videographers, performance artists, playwrights and musicians.
By lyric or script, by music video or by news we forge our critical and artistic senses to report on our struggles, our victories, our dreams and aspirations.

We also record for history, and for archives, and for education. For some it is about documentation: proof that we exist, that what we do takes courage, perseverance, stamina, organization, commitment, and regular parties with lots of good food and a dance floor.

WE ARE THE MEDIA

As for that other media--the predominant media, the mainstream media, the global-corporate-propaganda media--well they're another matter entirely.

They will infiltrate their media with a bias that is rooted in privilege and branches for power.
They will present a pro-environment news story alongside an ad for an automobile.
They represent the interests of profit over people, of real-estate over homes.
They pledge allegiance to the rights of corporations over human beings.

Screw them.

Where they are complicit with the criminals who exploit for a living, we side with the people who live for the struggle to end exploitation.

They channel the pathetic pundits and illegitimate leaders whose greedy agendas plunder the earth while we air the visionaries and revolutionaries who seek sustainable futures.

So please don't confuse our interests with theirs.

WE ARE OUR MEDIA.

Stay togeather !

Hi everybody,

the german chancellor Merkel wants the poor and unemployed people let pay for the impacts of the world economic crisis.
She will change the law to punish the workers and their families, who became unemployed because of the greedy behavior
of the managers, bankers and gamblers of Wallstreet etc.!
We claim compensation ! If we don´t fight for our right, none of the perpetrators are going to pay a single cent !
Let us fight for justice, all over the world ! Organize demonstrations like this:

Berlin and Stuttgart, Germany 06.12.2010
Demonstration "WE DON´T PAY FOR YOUR CRISIS!"
More than 40.000 demonstrators

Fight for justice,

The PAY YOU FUCKERS
