Fast and Vigil for Climate Change - Parliament Hill

We ask you to contact your government representatives and demand urgent action, especially the elimination of all fossil fuel subsidies. Tell the government about your vision for the future of Canada and what kind of world you want to leave for citizens today, our children and grandchildren.

We suggest that you write letters to the editor of your local newspapers with the same asks demands and vision. 

Design your own fast

Food Fast  

Carbon fast

Give up beef
Give up meat
Eat no more than one meat meal a day
Gandhian style fast of all solid food – water, tea and juice could be allowed

Do not embark on a full food fast without consulting with your doctor.  The goal of this fast is not to cause yourself bodily harm.  If you have a medical condition where food fasting would cause harm, choose another fasting option.

Fast from meat
Fast from two meals a day
Fast from one meal a day
Fast from favourite food (chocolate?)
Give up my car
Ride my bike, walk or bus as often as possible
Fast from wasting water. Install a low flush toilet
If it is hot, live without your air conditioning
Write a blog, Make a video, or hold my own event during ClimateFast

You can donate the money saved to a climate or hunger relief organization. You can donate it to ClimateFast.

ClimateFast is holding our second fast and vigil on Parliament Hill (Sept 21 to Oct 2,, 2013). We are hungry for climate leadership! Our purpose is to draw attention to the misery we are unleashing on our children and on this living world. We appeal to our policy makers to take aggressive steps to reduce our emissions. We ask you to contact your government representatives and demand urgent action on these goals: end fossil fuel subsidies put a price on carbon support the development of a renewable energy plan for Canada We encourage you to join in our fast for a day or more, on Parliament Hill, or organize an event in your community. Our action is a peaceful and hopeful one. We aim to inspire people and decision makers in Canada to find the courage and wisdom to press for, and put into action, the urgent measures needed to assure a safe climate. We suggest that you write letters to the editor of your local newspapers with the same demands.
