Movement Media: Embedded Journalism in the Grassroots

Peoples' Social Forum // Forum social des peuples Workshop Presented by Briarpatch Magazine and the Toronto Media Co-op:

Grassroots journalism starts with the people who have been directly affected by policies or activities, compared to the powerful voices making themselves heard in their own interests that are often solely reported on. Learn about alternative media models, how to collect & disseminate stories from the grassroots in order to get the real story, and media repression in this packed workshop.

Speakers:
Megan Kinch, Briarpatch Magazine
Darryl Richardson, Toronto Media Co-op
Jessica Denyer, Independent Media-Maker

Location: Morisset Hall, room 251
