In 2015, Paris was tragically struck by two terrorist attacks. In their wake, the French government put out a call for "national unity" and more military intervention in the Middle East. In the same year, the refugee crisis in Europe reached a level unseen since World War II. Why is the Middle East one big battlefield and what role do US, French and the other Imperialist powers really play there? What is the real solution to the problems in the Middle East and the endless wars there? 

Join us for a presentation and discussion led by Jérôme Métellus, Paris based editor of the French Marxist magazine Révolution (www.marxiste.org) and activist with the Front de Gauche, about the impact of the terror attacks in Paris, the refugee crisis in Europe and the role of imperialism and war in fanning the flames of these crises. 

Jerome is presenting as part of a speaking tour being hosted by Fightback (marxist.ca), 
La Riposte (www.marxiste.qc.ca) and the U.S. based Workers' International League (socialistappeal.org). We are very honored to bring this insightful speaker here to learn about these struggles and prepare for our own struggles at home.
