Are we peacekeepers? In his new book, Canadian author Yves Engler takes a second look at legendary Canadian political figure Lester B. Pearson and his foreign policy.
Although Canada is moving away from the peacekeeping doctrine, Engler's provocative new book suggests that Canada did not engage in pure peacekeeping since the end of World War II, but instead acted to support U.S. aims in the Cold War.
