Spring Thaws: Pipeline Meltdown Tour is a Métis and settler indigenous solidarity fundraiser initiative to raise funds for the Unist'ot'en Camp and Reclaim Turtle Island.
"The Unist'ot'en Camp is a resistance community whose purpose is to protect sovereign Wet'suwet'en territory from several proposed pipelines from the Tar Sands Gigaproject and shale gas from Hydraulic Fracturing Projects in the Peace River Region." (http://unistotencamp.com/)
"Reclaim Turtle Island is a grassroots radical media project that works to develop resources to build capacity for Indigenous sovereigntist and anticolonial struggles in Turtle Island... Our focus is Indigenous resistance for Indigenous people and Reclaim is more than a media project. Reclaim Turtle Island also directly engages in struggle against resource extraction as well as builds a network of land defenders across our territories." (http://reclaimturtleisland.com/)
The tour aims to offer financial support to help sustain both of these grassroots indigenous groups who are doing amazing work defending the land against Enbridge pipeline's attempts to devastate mother earth with tar sand oil industry expansion, and resist ongoing colonialism and capitalism.
