Join Science for Peace and the University of Toronto Graduate Students’ Union Social Justice Committee for a unique afternoon lunch and learn and public talk on ‘reclaiming’ in these changing times.
The speakers will be Bob Lovelace speaking about “Reclaiming the Indigenous Commons”, Danny Harvey on “Reclaiming the Atmosphere from Greenhouse Gas Emissions” and Bruce Gagnon on Reclaiming Space from Weaponization.
The lunch and learn is designed to give youth and students a chance to have a more intimate opportunity to dialogue with the speakers. It will take place in Bahen Centre room 1230 from 12:15pm – 1:45pm. The public talk takes place in Bahen room 1130 from 2-4pm.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Bob Lovelace
A former chief of the Ardoch Algonquin First Nation, was sentenced to 6 months in jail for protesting against uranium drilling and contamination of Algonquin land. He is now a Term Adjunct Lecturer, Department of Global Development Studies, at Queens University where he teaches aboriginal studies.
Danny Harvey
A professor of geography at the University of Toronto whose research focuses on climate modelling, climatic change, energy and the environment. He served as the convening lead author on the IPCC Technical Report #2 and has been appointed lead author for Working Group III for the 2014 IPCC Assessment Report due in April 2014.
Bruce Gagnon
The Coordinator of the Global Network Against Weapons & Nuclear Power in Space. He was a co-founder of the Global Network when it was created in 1992.
