My kids know better than Rob Ford

I have two children aged 4 and 5, when they do something wrong or are mean to someone they must apologize. They were taught that a real apology doesn't count unless you say what you are sorry for. When Rob Ford was on the radio this afternoon my 4 year old asked me "What is he sorry for?" When I told her that he didn't say she told me "then that doesn't count." She's right, it was not a proper apology and no one should be expected to accept it.

My children also know that when they do something bad they lose some privileges. If one of them goes on a sugar bender and knocks over the couch cushion castle they don't get to be mayor of Princess Town anymore. Mr. Ford seems to think that he can keep on trucking with no consequences.

He even went so far as to turn his non-apology for vague "mistakes" into a campaign speech. This shows how deeply deluded our embattled mayor is. He exchanges bags with drug dealers in dark alleys, takes photos with killers and victims, pisses on a public school and still he has the audacity to claim that he has the interest of this city's citizens at heart.

He is a blight on this city's reputation; it is almost impossible for me to talk to a friend from another country without them bringing up the crack scandal. Even Joe Warmington, The National Post and the Toronto Sun have turned against Rob and asked him step down. It is truly the only thing left to do and the only apology this city should accept.
