At around 6:30pm on January 15 emergency crews responded to a house fire at 31 Macdonell Avenue in the Parkdale neighbourhood of Toronto. Several fire, police and ambulance vehicles blocked in a TTC bus and closed the street to traffic. The fire was handled swiftly and there appeared to be no injuries or serious damage. The fire engine's boom ladder was extended and shone a light on the roof, indicating the fire was in the upper floors.  A strong smouldering smell lingered in the neighbourhood.
